Now, with the roles reversed, the pair are headed for a rematch on December 7 in Saudi Arabia.

When asked if he’ll return the favour and allow Joshua to hold his belts this time around, Ruiz Jr had a firm answer.

He replied: “Hell no. He has to win first.

“These are mine, mine to keep.”

Ruiz Jr also stated that he believes he knows AJ’s game plan having seen the Brit’s new ‘slimmer’ physique.

The champion continued: “He’s going to try and win by points… especially since he’s going to be running around.

“My job is to cut the ring, and that’s exactly what we’ve been training for…

“He even said at one of the press conferences, he said that he was gonna be boxing around.

“He kinda told me his strategy, but whatever he does we’re gonna do the best we can to do our thing.”
